Brian recently joined EPS after receiving his Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and Management with a Graduate Certificate in Hydrology from Portland State University (2018), School of the Environment.
Brian McGann is a Staff Ecologist with over five years of experience in ecological investigations. Some examples of contributed projects include: analyzing non-target community responses to pesticide applications, evaluating forest demographic responses to simulated disturbances, establishing a forest-dynamics plot in an under-studied ecoregion, expanding aquatic bio-monitoring programs, prioritizing restoration efforts through aerial survey truthing, and projecting future below-ground symbiotic relationships. He has field experience in the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, Central America, the Caribbean, among other regions. He is fluent in Spanish. He has terrestrial and aquatic taxonomic identification expertise. His laboratory expertise is centered on environmental contaminant analysis. He is experienced with database management, statistical analysis in R, and GIS evaluation in ArcGIS.
